Dark Side of Tucson

Well after living in Tucson for five winters and thinking it was paradise, I have seen a dark cloud descend on my dream, I love Dwight Yoakum , Last year he came to Tucson in an outdoor venue and it was great, This year he came to the Fox Theater in downtown Tucson, This is an art deco theater that has been restored to it glory. Now I am an architectural fan and love to see the old building that have been restored, So the fact that my favorite musician was playing in a great venue was to be an incredible experience for me.

I bought tickets for 130.00 and dressed in my Sunday go to meeting clothes, took a calm drive to the city proper to enjoy my evening of music. Well that dream ended quickly, we got to our seats and relaxed. Soon five drunk women came and sat in our row next to us and the row in front of us..  they proceeded to drink and scream at each other through the opening band so loud you could not enjoy the music. When the first band ended I thought I would voice my displeasure and asked them if they were going to do this the whole concert? They laughed and said they were trying not to.

On comes Dwight, the sound system was terrible and you could not hear Dwight at all, after five songs the sound crew told Dwight that there was a serious problem with the sound system. Dwight and the band left the stage to let them fix the system. Now when it was repaired, Dwight came back and started the whole set again for the crowd, All was well , well really not the women had used the down time to suck down more beer and were worse than before. After several song I asked them to please SHUT up, of course I got a loud gang fuck you. They said they thought I was kidding the first time, I let them know I was not.

Now the security show up and drags me out of the theater, I could not believe it was me that got yanked out and not them. I let the security know that the were very disruptive the whole time and I finally snapped and asked them to SHUT up and watch the concert. They told security I threatened them. Well I did tell one" if she was a man I would punch her in the face", Opps not politically acceptable. Now a manager comes over and tells security to throw me out of the theater. So I was ejected...

So if you are a drunken slob  bitch you can stay and a  working stiff that actually came to see the concert gets  ejected. The theater management are assholes and I wasted 130.00. One bright note is I did not push it to the point of arrest as the police were in the mix.

I would not recommend the Fox Theater in Tucson for any concerts, sound crew sucks,The manager is a  bitch and you can not enjoy yourself at all in this venue.....Thank you Dwight for the redo of the five songs that we could not hear, but next time pick another venue for your concert.... I wish I could have seen the second half of the concert but I am a minority being a working, sober, polite, person.
